The conference will take place in Bern, at the University and at the Kursaal, in Switzerland.

Passport and Visa Requirements
:
Foreign visitors entering Switzerland must be in possession of a valid ID or passport. Delegates from countries requiring visas should apply to the Swiss consular offices or diplomatic missions in their home countries.

Requests for invitation letters should take into account the typical visa procedures of the Swiss embassy in the applicant's country and need generally be asked before Monday 20 June 2005, as the original letters will only be sent via regular mail.

Currency:
In Switzerland, the Swiss Franc (CHF) is the official currency. The exchange rate (April 2004) is approximately 1 CHF = 0.635 EUR. Euros might be excepted in a few hotels and on the lake boats to France. Major credit cards (VISA, Mastercard/Eurocard) are generally excepted at airports, train stations, hotels, larger shops etc.

Insurance

Participants are strongly advised to make their own insurance arrangements. The organizers cannot accept any liability for personal injuries sustained, or for loss or damage to property belonging to participants and accompanying persons, either during or as a result of the Conference.

Support

A limited amount of funding will be available. The deadline for requests is Friday, 20 May 2005.

Participants from central and eastern European countries may apply to the East West Task Fund. They may check whether they fulfil all the conditions at

Physicists under the age of 35 may apply directly to the conference. Those wishing to apply should outline in a letter to the EPS conferences service the reasons for the support request.
